Do you know QUARTER POUNDER? It is the biggest menu in MacDonald’s.
I had eaten it once time. It was so juicy and very big!
However, do you know that?
QP (QUARTER POUNDER) is sold only some areas. The areas are only Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, and Kumamoto.




QP has a beef pate, two cheeses, onions (it was cut more big than usual), pickles, and ketchup and mustard sauce. The pate is twice time as usual hamburger. The beef is from Australia and New Zealand. Recently, Macdonald starts to sell DOUBLE QUARTER POUNDER. It uses two big pates!





By the way, the QP’s size is 281 gram, and 561 kcal. QP compare with the other burgers. The hamburger is 99 gram, 251 kcal, and the BigMac is 545 kcal. QP is three rimes gram by usual hamburger. POUNDER means pound. In Japan, we do not use pound, only gram. The other country which also do not use pound calls QP as Hamburger Loyal or Mac Loyal. I was surprised that the United Arab Emirates has two menus that QP and Hamburger Loyal.



QP is originally popular in America and the other country, so the name as QP is not only MacDonald in England and so on. To my surprise, Japanese MacDonald had QP menu before, but from 1978 the menu went out from regular menu. Actually, MacDonald in American Army Base has kept QP.

Why QP sell only Kumamoto in Kyusyu? Kumamoto has many good foods, and most people know Kumamoto. Kumamoto is center in Kyusyu. However, everyone does not know the reason. QP will sell all of Japanese MacDonald’s Shop soon. Kumamoto take a initiative in QP in Japan.
